"As a pre-lude and following our visit to Arundel WWT, the year one classes have been exploring our environment at great length:

We have studied the colours of the flowers found in our environment and created a rainbow of natural colour. We have also used the opportunity to develop pictures using natural resources.

We have also been looking at the animals in the environment, creating bird feeders, mini beast houses and planting flowers for the bees and insects. We have also been growing fruits and vegetables around the school and currently have successful raspberries, tomatoes, sweet peas, courgettes, onions, peas, sunflowers, poppies, and potatoes amongst several more.

The children have become really familiar with birds and plants, able to identify and name several of each."
