"We visited the Wetlands in October and had an incredible day. We have used this valuable experience as a huge part of our community project last term where we wanted to encourage greater biodiversity in our school playground.

We currently have a biodiversity area but it is not engaged with fully and properly by the children and we wanted to remind the rest of the school of the potential of this area. We spoke in assembly about our trip and how Sam and other staff inspired us to find out more about nature and the habitats.

As well as completing nature activities from the generation wild website, we have also drafted and created our own posters of the activities to display in our playground. We want to encourage other children to complete these simple and accessible activities. We also have the children wearing their 'Guardian of the Wild' badges at school and they were introduced in our assembly as pupils that children can speak to if they want ideas for nature activities to do outside."
